Wow, how’d I miss this news about this? I’m pretty sure someone made an argument like this at some point in the design process — and won:
Look, everybody uses the search bar or those big fat categories strung across the top anyway. So, why not have a little fun with the rest of the page?
Update: For those asking, since it may not have been clear in the sarcasm: I’m quite impressed by the new design.
I really love this ad. I really like the idea of people from different parts of the world reaching toward each other. The windows over the map also remind me of how important placement is when designing.

THE BED
The bed needs a redesign. Since we spend so much of our lives there, shouldn’t we really design that space well? I like this design by Oliver Peake.
KERNTYPE
A kerning game for true type nerds or others who just want to try their hand and see how well they can kern type. I only got an 88 out of 100. :( via August de los Reyes
